Allianz General Insurance Company (M) Berhad paid out RM371mil for motor claims and RM200mil for non-motor claims in 2012.
The amount was paid out for 108,756 claims made last year. In a statement made, Allianz Insurance received more than 289 claims a day.

Through this, Allianz General keeps to its claims mission of offering fast and fair solutions in hours of need as it embarked on claims service improvement initiatives with customers in mind,” it said.
“At Allianz, we learn and develop new ideas to help, reach out and understand the needs of our customers,” said Jayapragash Amblavanar, Allianz General’s head of claims division, in the statement.
He said some of the initiatives included the enhancement of claims settlement turnaround time, training, system improvements and branding. Jayapragash said Allianz General also introduced a three-tier claims process for non-motor claims, where a settlement for non-motor could be made within 96 hours for claims below RM3,000 to a maximum of 35 days for claims below RM50,000.
